Male Yeast Infection
It is possible for a man to get a yeast infection if he has unprotected sex with his partner if she has a genital yeast infection. However, sexual transmission of yeast infections is uncommon.
The most common reasons for males to develop yeast overgrowth is if he has undergone long term antibiotic treatment, suffers from diabetes or has impaired immune function, such as those with HIV/AIDS.
Signs and symptoms of male genital yeast infection include a pinkish rash and possible itching or burning at the tip of the penis. A more systemic yeast infection may include distention and discomfort of the intestines, skin rashes and possibly oral thrush.
