Which one of these do you prefer?
I wrote two rhymes, one I guess is a metaphor I really don’t know, the other is a Battle rap. Which one do you prefer?
RHH:2 Do you prefer socially conscious raps or battle raps, give some examples of your favorite artists/songs of the genre.
I write the check of harmony and bounce it to the beat
Keep my flow on point releasing ink on to the sheet
The paper is my testament endorsing the beholder
Instant feedback rushes up my arm into the shoulder
Stimulating nerves resulting in emphatic euphoria
The blood flowing through my veins so sick that biters get malaria
This all excites the reality show that resides inside my mind
Giving my lyrical love the rose while hate is left behind
It is unscripted uncensored and always sure to entertain
The lightning quick reflexes giving responses to my brain
Its at this time my love and I are the most emotionally connected
Conversely, the relationship between my life and limbs are negatively effected
By ignoring my physical being my extremities were left to waste away
It seems as though my flows so cold even I got frostbite one day
The moral of this story is keep track of your money and assets, body and lyrics
Keep a healthy balance don’t write a check your body can’t cash cause of academics
And then the Battle Rap
Fresh out the womb, contradictory tomb, my venomous verses spelled out doom
My mental masturbation takes place with metal fingers and plenty of elbowroom
With a confused face asking Y like the chromosome you missing
I’m out of your zone you under ground I’m in the ozone wishing
That I could go higher but I need the O to spit hot fire like D.C.
Words are my food mixed with tight beats they my p*ssy
I toke information from folk like words librarians spoke
Addictive to smoke like coke soaked in white baking yolk
The pain of your lame can easily be corrected wit the crimes I’ll commit
The train of my bullet leave you laid out so f*cking fast Japan’ll feel it
This battle is feudal, radioactive like Chernobyl
Nas knighted me now I’m a hip hop noble
Take my pen to battle cause I heard its mightier than the wand or the sword
My ink form clouds that precipitate fire making you look flightier then a Honda Accord
If the game of chess takes two on level ground and equal shoes
Then this tango never happened because b*tch I’m over you

Thanks guys but do have an critiques on them or answers for the second question which style you prefer and your favorite rapper of that style.
@ Dan L, I like Def Poetry jam if thats what you mean by your favorite type, could you explain where exactly I smashed it cause I can’t really tell what part is becomes better than the rest. It would help a lot for me to become better at this.

The first one is one of the best raps i’ve seen typed here in a long time. 10/10
The second one didn’t flow as well, but you had some good lines in it. I love this line: "With a confused face asking Y like the chromosome you missing". That was seriously one of the best punchlines i ever heard. But the overall rap wasn’t as good as the second one because you had a lot of uneven bars. 7.5/10.
RHH 2: I can appreciate punchline and battle rappers. But socially conscious raps are much better in my opinion. Some of my favorite conscious songs are:
Thieves in the Night – Blackstar
Respiration – Blackstar
Mathematics – Mos Def
Changes – 2pac
Whatever – Brother Ali
Smithereenz – El-P
Clones – The Roots
*Guarantees – Atmosphere* ******BEST ONE*******
Git Up, Git Out – Outkast

This is hard. It’s hard to compare because they are different types of rhymes but they both are very visual, so I’ll go with the first one because it paints a better picture to me.

I like The First One. Better Lyrics. id give it a 7.5, and the second one a 7.

they’re both good, but neither is great. seems like your flow gets awkward at times, you got some really long bars and then some short ones, especially in the first one. i would go with the 2nd one as better, especially since you smash it at the end.
i like both battle and conscious, but prefer more like… spoken word rap i guess. if that makes sense.
