You should get character shoes. The are really use-full for all those dance classes. They aren’t that costly either. You just have to look a little.

Good ballroom shoes aren’t going to be cheap. The last pair that I bought set me back £60.00.

You want a good pair of leather shoes with a suede sole so that they don’t slip on the floor. There are many places that you can buy excellent ballroom shoes, I’ll list a few of the websites here:

Go along to your local Dance-wear shop, they are in the business to advise on what best to wear for any specific dance style. Ballroom shoes come in a range of styles and prices and you would be well advised to choose a medium heel for the sake of comfort if you are a beginner. Good luck.

You should get ballroom shoes, but if you’re doing just one type, e.g. tango or something like that, there are strappier shoes for that. If you’re a beginner and you’re not so good with heels yet, try character shoes. I’d recommend character shoes though. Don’t try shoes with too high of a heel though.
