No. The dress is too long and not sexy enough. Also, the skirt should be high in the front or better yet, a dress with a split in the front or sides for ease of movement, flow, and sexiness, Here are some examples

I’ve never really understood high heels. But they seem to match the dress.

I personally didn’t like the options. But I’m not leaving high and dry. Here are dresses I found. They are in plus sizes and in common stores. (I assumed you needed a plus size because the old navy dress above was plus) And all these dresses can be worn for different occasions

I like this one because: a simple black dress always looks great. If you matched this dress with gold shoes and gold bangles your moves will be accented! Or you could even be bold and match it with red shoes

I like this one because: red would look great. And the texture looks fun. This dress would go great with black. (I liked the white option better for everyday things. But if you are going to perform on stage, sometimes white shows everything)

I liked this one because: I covers good and it’s simple. Probably fits with every song. This dress is like a blank canvas you could go any where with this dress.

I liked this one because: It’s exciting and different. And the wrap at the waist will be sliming. Once you go to this link I would search around it, I saw a lot of good dresses.

i like the red one better. its more latin. not the shoes, though. maybe higher and sling-back. those look kind of teacher-ey. they would go w/ a tweed jacket. (definately NOT latin!!!)

I have to agree that the dress and shoes are a bit frumpy for tango. Also, you want to be sure that any halter dress you wear does not come undone during a performance. It is important for dance shoes to have a LEATHER or SUEDE bottom. They must also stay on your feet, that’s why so many dance shoes have straps – plus straps are sexy. You can Google "dance shoes" and find lots of ballroom dance shoes online. Here are just a few possible links.

The last one has some low heel tango shoes in case that’s what you are looking for. I don’t purchase my shoes online, so I can’t speak from experience.
The online shoes are expensive, and it would be better to find shoes in a local store so you could try them on, if possible. But looking at the online tango shoes will give you some idea what to shop for. Don’t forget to walk/dance BACKWARD when trying on shoes to be sure they stay on your feet.
If you need plus size clothing, try
    http://www.ekclothing.com
There are lots of appropriate dance outfits at that site, some in plus sizes.
Good luck with the performance – and have fun!

This is for a school project… she will not want to invest a lot of money in a school project! So no, she will not be buying Tara Tango shoes, or at least I would not encourage her to.

Buy a simple black dress. It does NOT have to be really short. As a matter of fact if it is too short it will inhibit your tango moves. It should also not be too long because you want the freedom to perform your tango moves… so put one on and dance! You will be able to tell what looks good, and what works most of all.

For shoes look for something black with a strap across the foot so they stay on during the performance. A plain pump will not stay on your foot. You don’t have to go fancy, but yes, try to get the strap, and a nice leather heel to facilitate your dance moves.

Have fun with your project! I am sure you will look great no matter what you decide to wear!
