Go to My Newtwork Places, click Network Connections, right-click local area connection and click properties, untick "AVG Network Filter Driver" in the "Connection uses the following items:" box. Try system restore or completely reinstall windows. My wife did it and it was a cure all. I'm sorry but i cannot tell you how to completely reinstall windows XP.
