I downloaded AVG Free 8.0 and now my internet won’t work?
I downloaded AVG Free 8.0.138 to my computer last weekend. I have Windows XP Media Center Edition SP2 and connect to the internet via Alltel DSL speedstream modem via USB (shows as a dial up connection) Tango Manager. When I try to access IE7 it says "internet explorer cannot display the webpage." Also, Firefox 2.0 will not work either. Modem works, it pings website but can’t use IE or FF. I tried system restore, reinstalled DSL, and removed AVG. I have disabled firewalls, AVG Linkscanner and Resident shield. Why won’t it work????
If you’ve done all you say you have, its likely to be coincidence and nothing to do with AVG. Try system restore or completely reinstall windows. My wife did it and it was a cure all. I’m sorry but i cannot tell you how to completely reinstall windows XP. Maybe the library?

If you’ve done all you say you have, its likely to be coincidence and nothing to do with AVG. Try system restore or completely reinstall windows. My wife did it and it was a cure all. I’m sorry but i cannot tell you how to completely reinstall windows XP. Maybe the library?

Do not do reinstall windows or anything crazy like that! Go to My Newtwork Places, click Network Connections, right-click local area connection and click properties, untick "AVG Network Filter Driver" in the "Connection uses the following items:" box. If your internet continues to not work, tick anything else with "AVG" in it.
