Puppy Socialization – First 4 Months

An often overlooked aspect of puppy training is puppy socialization. It is a very important part of puppy obedience training. In their new world you can introduce them to positive experiences and protect them from negative experiences. They form their impressions during the first 4 months of their lives. Puppy socialization is how they learn about the world around them through sights, sounds, smells, tastes. Anything that stimulates their senses. This includes places you take them to, people and other animals they meet. Giving them positive experiences with people and animals will allow them to gain confidence and help them grow into a well mannered confident adult dog. It is a very important part of puppy training.
