Why do SOME white people claim they invented everything?

the wheel, chariot, and wheelbarrow-Iran
writing-Everybody!
cities-Mesopotamia
agriculture- Iraq, Turkey, Syria and Jordan
guns and gunpowder-China
crossbows-China
windmills-Persiaor Iran
waterwheels-India
steel and cast iron metallurgy-Nubia
magnetic compass-China
paper-Egypt
money and banking-Lydia or Modern TURKEY
algebra and geometry-Arabic
the rounded arch- Persian, Harappan, Egyptian
mathematical concepts such as pi, the Pythagorean Theorem, and zero-Egypt from Euclid
musical intruments (guitar, harp, trumpet, bagpipes, and violin)
Pizza, Lipstick, Pasta-China
HIP-hop,Jazz ,Rock, Techno, Reggae, Pop, Dub, Salsa, Merengue, Milonga, Tango-BLACKS AND LATINOS

NONE of this discoveries came from EUROPE. Without this, you wouldn’t BE ABLE to make clock, automobilies, or music!
TANGO came from the AFRO-ARGENTINEANS.
MIDDLE EAST CONSIDER THEMSELVES ASIAN. MIDDLE EAST IS IN WEST ASIA NOT EUROPE.
WHITE means EUROPEAN not LIGHTSKINNED.
PASTA or NOODLES CAME FROM CHINA AND MARCO POLO BROUGHT THEM TO ITALY.

Because if they didn’t claim to invent everything it would threaten their claim to superiority. Luckily most white people today recognize these achievements and aren’t preaching superiority. Well, maybe most educated white people.

Did you also know the Incas had vast libraries of knowledge, written down in their own language, and the Spanish missionaries who came with the conquistadors burned them down. How do you subjugate a culture unless you can "prove" that they’re below you? I think that’s why Bush wants us to believe that Middle Easterners are less than human – who in America has ever learned jack about the middle east unless you go to college and sign up specifically for a class?

My Girlfriend dances Tango. I hate it. How do I cope?

I met my Girlfriend last year. I knew she danced Tango and I thought I could cope with it. However I went to a Milonga with her to watch and I couldn’t bear to watch another man in such a close embrace with my Girlfriend. Away from Tango we are inseprable. My girllfriend has been dancing Tango for at least 10 years now and she understand’s why I am so jealous of it. She is very commited and practaciies at least twice a week. I tried to learn and went to a few classes but to be honest I hated it. It has caused many, many arguements but I love my girlfriend dearly and we have talked about marraige. How can I cope with her dancing such a sensual dance? She says it is just about the music and movement and I do believe her but I can’t get my head around the fact that she is comfortable dancing cheek to cheek with another man. I want to be with her the rest of my life but I am scared she will leave me eventually because of her Tango obsession.

You both have to make sacrifices in your relationship.

Would you be happy if she stopped dancing for you even though it’s very important to her and you know it would make her unhappy?

You have to trust your gilfriend. I can tell you now, as a dancer myself, she would never cheat on you with her dance partner. It’s all professional. You build a close relationship with your dancer partner because you have to train with them etc but that’s all there is to it.

She would never have gone out with you in the first place if she had strong feelings for her dance partner. Mark my words.

I don’t blame you for getting somewhat uncomfortable watching her dance with another man, but if you can’t trust her, then surely getting married will cause you even more distress.

You have to learn to trust her, I know it’s hard, but it sounds to me like you are crazily in love with her and she sounds exactly the same about you.

If dancing makes her happy, then you should try to be happy for her.

All this arguing will just destroy your relationship. Please just tell her you’re sorry and she will apologise too.

hope I’ve helped
xxxxx

is tango not meant for singles?

Well, tango is a game of seduction. When you dance milonga, you hold the woman very close and you look into the woman’s eyes. It can be uncomfortable for the single man to be in such close proximity with an unknown woman. The case is same for woman too. Does the orgination of tango has to do with couples trying to seduce ?

the origin of ALL dance is seduction…

Argentine Tango?

Does anyone dance argentine tango? Where do you live and where do you Tango? what are your favourite moves? do you prefer milonga to tango, or both equally? I just love tango, and want to see who else is out there…if you are interested read my tango blog www.tangosam.blogspot.com but you don’t have to, I just want to see some tango fans.

I’ve been leading Tango Argentino, Tango Vals, and Tango Waltz for four months, and American Ballroom Tango for three months.

I like to mix them up, doing the Argentine styles in the Eye of the Hurricane when the music is American, and American Ballroom around the floor in the line of dance, but I’m and Argentine Tango purist when the music is Argentine (except I practice both at the milongas so my partner can learn both styles).

My dance partners previous experience with a university social dance class included polka and not tango at all, so we had two 30 minute tango lessons one week apart before we went to a ballroom studio on the ninth day, that being their third day ever to tango.

I mixed up the Tangos, starting with Argentine tango basics to cross, back ochos, tango close, quick switch to american ballroom tango for a promenade to open fan to LUAT (ladies underarm turn), forward progressives into the line of dance, ending in a turn, etc.

We did several sets, back and forth between the two tangos, Argentine, American, Argentine, American… It was fun.

We’re in the Southwestern United States. Our Tango Group is moving from a Bar to an Art Gallery. I just bookmarked your blog.

Of the thirteen new dances I began to pick up during spring semester, Argentine Tango is the one I’m taking the most effort to learn well this semester. Argentine Tango is the one I’m concentrating on. Argentine Tango is the dance you have to put your soul into.

how much time can it take for someone to dance tango pretty good or decently good?

i just started a class on friday and class is every friday for 2 hours. my first day went really well. how much time approximately before i can be in a show or go to a milonga?

According to some classifications, beginner is considered someone who has danced more than 6 months and up to 2 yrs, intermediate is someone with 2-5 years experience, and advanced is someone who has years of experience + is able to improvise both as leader and follower and is able to teach beginners.

It is all about your personal perception – when you go on the dance floor and feel like you embrace the music and feel the partner and have an overview of the dance floor – voila, that’s when you can say that you are into the rhythm of gotan.

Have a happy tangoing and enjoy the learning process :) ))

Stare polskie tango: ‘Tango Milonga’ = ‘Oh, Donna Clara !’

Polish authors: Jerzy Petersburski – composer and Andrzej Włast lyricist, wrote a new song for Stanisława Nowicka – a ‘queen of tango’ and a singing star of cabaret Morskie Oko, Warsaw, for the opening night of a new season in September 1929. The song was titled ‘Tango Milonga’ and within a few days became a huge success of the artists involved. Within a couple of months, a haunting refrain crossed borders and soon was published by Wiener-Verlag, however, with a completely different text and a new title: ‘Oh, donna Clara !’, first to become a ‘deutsche Schlager’ and soon after a hit of the world. Recorded in many versions in many countries.
Nevertheless, in the country of its origin, Poland, still is regarded as the biggest Polish hit of all times and is sung – exclusively – in its first original version:

Tango milonga, tango mych marzeń i snów,
Niechaj me serce ukołysze.
Tango milonga, jak dawniej, grajcie mi znów,
Zabijcie tę dręczącą ciszę.
Żegnajcie, dawne wspomnienia,
Żegnajcie, burze i serc uniesienia,
Czas wszystko odmienia,
Kochanku mój, żegnam cię, bywaj zdrów.
Tango milonga, tango mych marzeń i snów,
Niechaj ostatni raz usłyszę.

Recording presented here was made by Mieczysław Fogg in 1960, a Nestor of Polish stage at that time.
