My first radio controlled robot that I made

I finally built a robot. I took a netbook with a webcam built in and attached it to my radio controlled truck. With the way my rc truck is, I just crafted a simple harness for the laptop to sit on above the electronics. The netbook hooks up to my wifi in the house and the camera is signed in to Aol Instant Messanger video chat. His name is 0110 and he can’t type but I can see where he is going. From my computer screen I can use my remote control and drive him around the house.

My next step is to make a way to control the movement of the robot over the net entirely!

Wind – The First Alternative Energy

Thinking back through history, the first time that humans ever truly harnessed wind power was when the first true sailing ships were built around 5000 years ago. Begun by the Egyptians, fleets of ships went on to conquer the world.

Many centuries later, in Persia and then in Europe, windmills were finally invented for irrigating water and grinding grain. Up until a couple of centuries ago, wind power drove virtually all large-scale industry. Until steam power, and in particular steamer ships gained prominence in the 19th century, Wind ruled the world.

After all this time, it seems we have come full circle again, with many people reverting back to windmill power as their alternative energy of choice.
