which argentinian tango on so you think you can dance was much spicier in flavor and technique?

chelsea and joshua’s from season 4 or janette and brandon’s from season 5…..
janette and brandon’s got a standing ovation from the judges…. although chelsea and joshua’s routina was emmy nominated i don’t think there was chemistry btwn them compared to janette and brandon’s…but the moves sure were hott!!! i still think janette and brandon’s routine might get a nomination

chelsea and joshua defiantly.

Does anyone know the title of a film showing two Swedish couples dancng the Argentinean Tango.?

The action starts very light with both couples showing that the Argentinean Tango can be danced in very confined spaces (like their flat). The film gradually gets darker and ends with the murder of one of the characters and the filming moves onto a rather dark and forbidding beach.

Many thanks if you know this film

Martin

Wasn’t that the movie filmed in Brazil by an Italian director and produced by a german and carried by a British company that has a distribution company that is run out of New Jersey?

Argentine Tango?

I am 5′1" only, my dance partner is 6′1", so even if I wear heels, I am still much shorter than him. We are thinking of taking argentine tango lesson together. Would it look really weird when we dance together? Sould I find someone who is closer to my height?

It would look just fine, but learning and dancing will be more difficult whith this much of a height difference. I suggest you two go to a beginner group class. In beginner classes, the teacher will ask you to rotate partners. You will get a chance to see for yourself if the height difference makes it much harder or it feels ok.

Where Can You Learn Tango Online?

I started learning tango on youtube (the tangocity ones) and learned all I could from that. A year ago, the tangocity website used to work where you could actually all the videos and all the lessons. But it doesn’t seem to work anymore. I was wondering if anyone knew of another good place to learn tango (preferably the Argentinean tango) online. Thank you for your time.

You can watch dance lessons online and you MAY learn the steps, but you still will not KNOW how to dance. Dances, like the tango, require you to learn more then the steps, you have to learn the methods of communication with your partner so that your moves will be perfectly in rhythm and synchronicity.

Go to a dance class either with a partner or without and you can learn how to dance.

Why do people here in the USA say "argentine tango"?. It’s really annoying. Repeat after me: Argentinian Tango?

Hi!
As a Spanish teacher who uses the word Argentinian to describe the people of Argentina, it seemed nice to have a different adjective all together to describe Tango…
Anyway, I think you might enjoy reading the posts on this forum, which discuss the issue of the different adjectives related to Argentina. They are both correct….

Enjoy!
