Tango Dancers Gustavo and Jesica Hornos from Argentina

This is a “tango argentino” improvisation by professional dancers Gustavo and Jesica Hornos. Because it is not a choreography the dancers need to communicate and “lead and follow” each single movement. Everything was created on the spot. Is like a fluid dialogue where their bodies talk and surprise each other step after step.
Even though Gustavo and Jesica are originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, they met each other at a tango party at Stanford University. They didn’t know that they were from the same Spanish speaking city and Gustavo invited her to dance introducing himself in English… then because of his accent Jesica thought Gustavo was from France, and Gustavo very soon realized that Jesica was from…another world. Thanks to the magic of tango now they are husband and wife and dance partners. Their mission is to spread Fun, Love and Healing through the power of Tango Dancing. Their tango is beyond the steps…they dance from their hearts.

Tango is truly a deep metaphor of superb communication, teamwork, leadership and followership skills, trust, romance, sensuality and enjoyment of life itself.

Tango In Argentina

I wanted people who watch dancing with the stars and other dance shows to see how woefully low the standards were in Australia. I keep ringing the TV Stations when they have dance contests and tell them what you are playing for the dancers is not Tango Music-to no avail. The TV stations will play songs from that fascist from Miami “Gloria Estephan” which have no connection to Tango Music at all and yet woefully no one gives a here. Its truly pathetic to see an Australian produced dance show. If I had children, I would force them to watch it as punishment when they misbehave.

Now this video is the real deal. The best club for true tango in BA is http:almatango.com.ar

Stare polskie tango: ‘Tango Milonga’ = ‘Oh, Donna Clara !’

Polish authors: Jerzy Petersburski – composer and Andrzej Włast lyricist, wrote a new song for Stanisława Nowicka – a ‘queen of tango’ and a singing star of cabaret Morskie Oko, Warsaw, for the opening night of a new season in September 1929. The song was titled ‘Tango Milonga’ and within a few days became a huge success of the artists involved. Within a couple of months, a haunting refrain crossed borders and soon was published by Wiener-Verlag, however, with a completely different text and a new title: ‘Oh, donna Clara !’, first to become a ‘deutsche Schlager’ and soon after a hit of the world. Recorded in many versions in many countries.
Nevertheless, in the country of its origin, Poland, still is regarded as the biggest Polish hit of all times and is sung – exclusively – in its first original version:

Tango milonga, tango mych marzeń i snów,
Niechaj me serce ukołysze.
Tango milonga, jak dawniej, grajcie mi znów,
Zabijcie tę dręczącą ciszę.
Żegnajcie, dawne wspomnienia,
Żegnajcie, burze i serc uniesienia,
Czas wszystko odmienia,
Kochanku mój, żegnam cię, bywaj zdrów.
Tango milonga, tango mych marzeń i snów,
Niechaj ostatni raz usłyszę.

Recording presented here was made by Mieczysław Fogg in 1960, a Nestor of Polish stage at that time.
